Thank you guys. Sorry that it’s taken me a while to reply. My ISP went down yesterday. She is beautiful. Of course, my memories of her are when she was much older, and plumper, but she was always just as beautiful as this to me. I always remember the texture of her skin which felt like powder. And, yes, I got her apple-like cheeks.
The Susan Sarandon resemblance never occurred to me but now that you’ve mentioned it, Enola, I can see it very clearly in this photo.
I didn’t put up my favourite picture of her in which she is sitting naked on the rocks in Indonesia, after having given birth to her 4 children. She was a magnificent woman in every way, strong and intelligent and… Well, she’s my Oma. I love her.
